Philips Hue Set Up

Question

Hi All

Currently looking to set up my hue lights to integrate with Cinemavision and am following Ragnarok's guide.  The guide states groups but I cannot set up groups on the Philips hue mobile app.  Are they called something else in the app.

Many Thanks

Hey there! I'm pretty sure they're still groups. I'm not super familiar with the app, but I found this article which should help. It mentions that you need to use another app called Huemote, which supports groups. At the point when the article was written, the official Hue app didn't have support for groups.

Hi all, one question with regards to Philips Hue and the provided Action Files: Can i manage more than one Group in an Action file? I know that "0" stands for all Groups, but in my configuration there is one Group which I do not want to apply changes to as this Group contains Osram plugs....

You can put as many Actions in the file as you want. For example, if you had the following groups:

  1. Room lights (Group 1)
  2. Walkway lights (Group 2)

You could have a single Action file that dimmed them separately that looks like this:

#Dim room lights over 30 seconds
http://<hue-bridge-ip>/api/<hue-bridge-user>/groups/1/action
PUT:{"on":false,"transitiontime":30}

Dim walkway lights over 3 minutes
http://<hue-bridge-ip>/api/<hue-bridge-user>/groups/2/action
PUT:{"on":false,"transitiontime":300}

That would dim the room lights over 30 seconds, and the walkway lights would go dark approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds later.

Hi there,

I am using Osram lightify plugs in my hue System which are added as lights by Philips Hue. Doyou know how to put them off/on?

My Action files includes:

http://192.168.178.51/api/xxxx/lights/40/state
PUT:{"on":false,"bri":0,"sat":254,"hue":47000,"transitiontime":0}

http://192.168.178.51/api/xxxx/16/action
PUT:{"on":false}

Light/Plugs remains on. :-(
XXXX is the  user Name.
40 is the number of the plug.
Group 16 contains plug 40 and 41.

Any idea what's wrong?

Best, Helge

It looks like OSRAM has it's own API that you may have to use. I don't know if it interfaces exactly like the Hue lights do because their webpage for the API documentation won't let me get past a user agreement, though.
