Folder Structure

Recommended Posts

I am curious what directories you guys (specifically the owner of this site) are placing your files in. I know that CV creates it's own folders upload launching, however I am unsure as to where to place certain items such as countdowns. I realize they can go anywhere, but the compulsive side of me wants them in the best directory possible for easy of use.

As soon as the Kodi forum is back up, and if not all of the content is missing, I will post my project here.

Thanks :)

Hey there! We tried to create the default directory structure in such a way that it mirrored the content types on the website (i.e. Countdowns, Trivia Intro, etc.) and made it relatively easy for users to just drop in their content. That said, there's nothing stopping you from creating custom directories and putting whatever content you want in them. The default directories just make it easy for us to create shortcuts to your content so when setting up a Sequence you don't have to browse the full path. I tend to use the default directories for most of my content, and I've added a custom directory called YouTube Channels that has a bunch of CVURL files in it for channels that put out content I sometimes like to display during my preshow.

Ok. Side note... I have 2 DVDs with high quality (higher than most of these same videos) commercials, snackbar ads, and the like. If you are interested, I can upload them for you to rip the commercials out of. It will take some time (I know because I've done it already) but I think it would be worth it. Lots of nice vintage stuff. The reason I do not like the ones I did is that I am not very good with video "editing" and I do not know how to level the audio. Some seem louder than others and it's a bit annoying.

Absolutely, sir! I'd suggest making an image of the DVDs and uploading them somewhere for us to grab. That way we can make sure we get the right audio codecs and everything off of them. If you'd rather do all that work, you're of course welcome to. :)

Ok, I have the DVDs zipped up. Can I get FTP access? It's 20GB. I am a content creator over at Emumovies if that helps your trust level any.

PM sent!

Please send me links to the uploads once done :)

The problem I was having before was not only leveling the audio, but also some clips needed trimmed at the beginning or end because there are loud speaker pops. Also, I am not sure how commercials at movies usually work but they may need fades added. I look forward to seeing what you guys can do with these. I paid a decent amount for these many years ago and they have just been sitting ripped on my PC in a "to do" folder.
