Zidoo x9s player problem with CV

Question

Hi, I just bought an x9s from Zidoo and the player that comes with it is super great, but I have a problem.

When I use ZDMC (kodi 17.6) with Cinema Vision, only the first video in the cinema vision que play (example: only the trailers) the main feature never starts.

This is my setup: Trailers, Audio bumpers, Feature

It only play one video and goes back to the Kodi library. It's like it don't que up those trailers, audiobumpers etc..

Is there a solution? I really like Cinema Vision, it's not the same without it :(

Hey @julianb! So we have similar issues with other 3rd party video players (like HiMedia for example). I don't know much about the ZidooPlayer, but I'd imagine it's a modified version of either DVDPlayer or VideoPlayer from Kodi.

I'd recommend reaching out to Zidoo to make sure that the ZidooPlayer works with Kodi in the same way that VideoPlayer does, or switch to the Kodi VideoPlayer from ZidooPlayer. We have this exact issue with the HiMedia Wrapper, and when those folks change to VideoPlayer everything works fine. We also had this issue with DSPlayer, but the developers of DSPlayer changed it to work in the same way the default VideoPlayer worked and now it's working well also. Is switching from ZidooPlayer to VideoPlayer an option?

Thank you for the fast reply!

Ok, so I just tested with the internal Kodi player and now Cinema Vision is working. The sad news are that the external player (zidoo) is much better.

I did find a forum post about this on the Zidoo forum, but the person that claims he got it working does not reply. (http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?threads/solved-cinemavision-zidoo-player.4005/)

Thank you anyway.. Cinema Vision is really great, was hoping for it to work on the Zidoo.

That's good to know! What does ZidooPlayer do that VideoPlayer doesn't do? Kodi completely revamped the player in 17, and it's getting even more improvements in 18. Another thing we could do is open a dialogue with Zidoo to see why CinemaVision can't process it's Sequence using the ZidooPlayer so they can change the player to work with the add-on. If you get traction with them and can get them to talk to us, we'll happily try to work that out.

The ZidooPlayer is better at f. ex 4K HDR and it's really fluid. I made a post over at Zidoo to see if I get any respons.

I just made a quick video showing the issue. (I cut down on the intros to make it short) I start with the ZidooPlayer, and then I try again with the Kodi player.

Just a quick question, Do you know how the OSMC Vero 4K work? I think it using the internal player, so CV should work there right?

Hey julianb,

have you set up somehow the contact to Zidoo yet? I have the exact same problems as you described. With the Zidoo Player it only plays one file and returns back to the library, would great if we could get this to work somehow, working together with the CinemaVision and Zidoo Supports!

Absolutely. If the player you're using is Kodi's VideoPlayer it will work just fine.

Zidoo will have to modify the ZidooPlayer to use the same calls that we use for Kodi's VideoPlayer in the same way that DSPlayer modified their player to work. I'm not sure what's required, but it'd be worth reaching out to Zidoo to see what they can do to help you.
