Question

I've just now got Kodi up and running on Xbox one, cinema vision seems to not be working properly (wont find sequences, content doesn't load properly, weird symbols on screen whilst trying to load next part of sequence etc). Is this a known issue?

What version of Kodi? If you are running Kodi 18, then you need to download the development version of the addons. BTW, I do not have an Xbox One, so it could possibly be different on that platform.

That's what it is. I'm using an RC version of Kodi 18. Thanks, will try the work around.

Cool, let us know how it goes.

Still having issues. Loaded the development version of CV and it looks great, however it doesn't seem to load content correctly and when I look for my previously saved sequences it only gives me default 2D and 3D. I can import a sequence and it practice runs great and I switch it from inactive to auto, but the queue only ever sees the Default 2 sequences. Also occasionally but not always when running CV it says "failed to read sequence file!"

Playing my films with CV results in one trailer and then the film.

I would try removing the addons and deleting their folders from the userdata folder. Then install again and create your sequence from scratch and see if that helps. The difference may be that I am using the Default 2D sequence. I do also have a Halloween one that I used successfully.

I've tried that and it still wont work. My sequences can be amended and saved in the correct folder, and yet they are not available in the queue dialogue box, only 2d and 3d, but it wont even play the 2d sequence I have saved as the default. It's almost like it's saving it somewhere else if that makes sense.

For some reason it's not finding content, despite the path being set correctly. For example if I try to configure the ratings it says no content found, when I know I have the right folder in the right place with content inside. And when running the process of picking up content I can see as it flicks through that it is not picking up what I have in my folders.

That is strange. I know I did not have to do anything with my content folders when I moved from stable to dev. I think someone else will have to chime in on it from here as I am out of ideas and have no Xbox One to experiment with.

That's ok, thanks for trying and thanks for the advice. Hopefully this gets rectified in a future update.

I have now a work around..... of sorts!

I can get the sequence to work by forgetting the CV Launcher and instead manually queuing a film, then going in CV and press Play. Until the issue gets sorted I can live with doing it this way.

Glad you were able to find a workaround at least! Hopefully CV gets updated for Leia since it is about to go to final release.

I have noticed that whilst this method works for video content when I point to a directory or file, it is not picking up anything in the other standard directories, Audio format, ratings videos etc.

Xbox now has left the RC stage and has Leia 18.0.

OK, I have a solution.

All of the files you want to use must be on the actual Xbox itself for this to work. When my CV folders were on my PC I could find the folders via SMB but the CinemaVision add on just doesn't pick any of it up, despite putting in the correct path.

Using file explorer on Xbox one kodi (Estuary skin) I copied the folders and files I needed onto the xbox, then pointed CV to that and it all works fine.

On a side note, Estuary isn't the prettiest skin, but it does eliminate the "buffering wheel" between intro's / trailers / main feature etc.

Hope that info helps someone.

Ugh, I wasted a whole weekend trying to figure this out lol.  I finally copied my files directly to the Xbox but I cant make CV find the location.  The files are located in my Xbox documents folder. Whats the path to that location?  Someone please help me keep my sanity lol

i put mine in "profile directory" (on file explorer in kodi - estuary skin). However in CV it shows as U:\users\usermgr0\appdata\local (that's where the letter limit stops me pic attached). Hope that is helpful.

You're a lifesaver man, was able to move the files no problem, thanks! Unfortunately I can't get CV to work properly on Xbox One: wont recognize slides, sometimes only plays trailers, host of other problems. Hopefully the developers will show the Xbox some love in the future
