slides.xml

Question

I'd first like to say I'm loving the addon your doing a great job, I'm having a problem getting slides to play in the right order, the addon doesn't seem to create an slides.xml file & the ones I make are either wrong or there not getting read, any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

So our implementation is a bit different than what you used in Cinema Experience. If you want to create a slides.xml file for more advanced functions or a different naming scheme, you can, but you'll hardly ever have to. We wanted to make it as simple as possible, so we standardized it.

For your Q&A sets, name the files [ThisIsMySlideName]_q, [ThisIsMySlideName]_c and [ThisIsMySlideName]_a. As long as the names before the underscore match, the files will play in order. You can also use up to 10 clues by using _c1, _c2 and so on in place of _c. That make sense? For Single slides, just give them a name like [ThisIsMySlideName] without the Q&A tags. If you follow that naming convention, you can just delete slides.xml from all of your trivia directories. CinemaVision can also play JPG, PNG, BMP and GIF files.

How are your files named?

We actually just updated the Classic decks for use with the new add-on a few days ago. I'd suggest re-downloading them, and using the new beta I just put up today. Let me know how it goes!

I've been having a go with your 0.0.37 from GitHub & also 0.0.35 from here, been having loads of fun, the .cvurl feature is great!

Great to hear! We figured that might help out some folks who don't have the hardware to store some video content. You can also do neat things like put up Honest Trailers before your feature! I put up the latest stable version of 0.0.37, and I would suggest you grab it from the site and test with that.

I'd like to point out (because I made the mistake) to put all of your different slides in separate folders inside the 'Trivia Slides' folder if you have QA slides that end with _q and _a mixed with single slides like movie facts or quotes they won't play in the proper order. Everything will be played as single slides in random order unless they are in separate folder based on type of slide.
