None of the transitions worked in 0.0.42. They happened, but they were moving at hyper-speed which is not good. That was fixed. The OSD issues you're having is a function of Kodi, and not something that CinemaVision is doing. Skinners can hide the OSD while CinemaVision is running if they choose.

I think it was the transitions for the trivia slides.  If you aren't using them, then you wouldn't have noticed an issue.
