Question

Just installed cinemavision, still having some problems configuring it

cant find where to set the number of trailers displayed before a movie, and also i would like to get the automaticly thru apple/itunes (i guess thats better than Kodi?)

if its possible i would also like to set a "intro", playing before the actual trailer/s start..

some help would be apreciated :)

ps. also, does anyone know how to change the BackRow-skin? i tried it and now it seems that im not able to get rid of it...

Here's a short sequence I put together using the Sequence Editor (you get to this by launching the CinemaVision Add-on). It plays a Trailers Intro video, then 3 Trailers from iTunes, then a Theatre Intro video, then the Feature, then a Theatre Outro video. Just drop the attached CVSEQ file in your CinemaVision\Sequences directory and drop the appropriate video files that you download from the website (Video Bumpers, Ratings Bumpers) in the correct folder. Watch my latest video below to get an idea for how to configure and run the add-on. Once we get to a more steady state, I'll be putting up some specific configuration videos as well.

As for Back Row, you should be able to install any other skin from the Kodi repo, or you can follow this guide.

Thanks.

when i run go to program addons and launch cinema vision, it shows me triva intro, outtro, courtesy, etc... at the top and gives me the option to enable, etc.   seems like that is demo mode. looks totally different than what it is in the video above. when you say, set up configuration.......  i think i must just be missing something.  i am usually pretty good with this type of stuff.  :-)

When CinemaVision is running in Demo Mode, you'll see Demo Mode written in the bottom right corner of the trivia slides. To set things up locally, in your add-on configuration for CinemaVision, set the Content Path setting, and then download and place your content.

Hi Ragnarok

I have downloaded the add-on and as per your video above I'm also using that skin. However I do not get the "CinemaVision" option to run the script when highlighting the movie and bringing up the box with "queue item, play from here" etc.

Any ideas why I am not getting that? I'm sure I am doing something daft.

In case it's important, I'm using your most recent build and running Kodi Helix 14.2 on an ATV1200 box with Ember. As I dont have a keyboard and just a remote control it's difficult to see how to trigger the sequence.

Pete

*edit

I can run it through the launched script now..... just not through the in Kodi menu system.

Hey there! The piece you need for that context menu is the CinemaVision Launcher. Its a Context Menu Add-on, and only works with Kodi 15+, because previous versions of Kodi don't support that functionality. In Kodi Helix and prior, you have no choice but to rely on skin integration, which is something the skinner (or you) will have to add in. I would strongly recommend upgrading to Kodi 15+, as the newer features will push us to drop Kodi Helix and prior from support. Once OpenELEC moves to Kodi 15+ as a stable release, we won't be maintaining support for prior versions.

Ah ok, I suspected as much. I will need to wait for the Ember guys to release a 15+

In case it's of help a couple of things I have noticed when using CinemaVision on an ATV1200.

I have some retro adverts i want to use..... I add an element for video "folder" and it wont look for the folder via Samba, but it will let me pick a folder on an SD card inserted into the box.... meaning that is where I have to keep certain elements to make the process work. This may be a shortcoming of the box itself and not your add-on.

Also for whatever reason it would not play the slides... just went black for a few seconds then moved on to next element. (I'm not bothered... I don't really use the slides but thought I would mention it).

I have also noticed (and it maybe because I am using Samba) that there is a bit of a wait between the elements, i.e. between theatre intro and say trailer intro. The old cinema experience didn't have this wait... or at least it wasn't as long. I would say the delay is about 3-5 seconds at times.

Many thanks

Pete

It's worth the upgrade, trust me!

As far as the retro adverts, CinemaVision doesn't care where things live, as long as Kodi can see the source. It can be a local disk, USB drive, NAS, SMB - anything. You do need to make sure that you've added whatever source that is as a source in the Kodi File Manager, though. We've seen odd issues that differ from platform to platform when only a video source is added, and not a source in the Kodi File Manager. Once you have the source added in the File Manager, create a Video Bumper Module in your Sequence and set your Type to Directory. Browse to the source you want (which can be any directory, anywhere) and it will scrape in content recursively, and play it however you have the Module set up.

What slides did you download? If you can, re-create that behavior and post up a log for us. That should tell us why it skipped slides.

What you're describing here might be a symptom of not having the source added in File Manager, and only as a video source.

Hi Ragnarok

Turns out you are spot on about adding directories through file manager..... this did allow me then to pick additional folders via Samba, thank you!

It didn't speed things up though, and for some reason now I am now having problems with the add-on as it wont retain a saved pattern (each time I load it, it says there is nothing saved and do I want a default pattern). Also it was stalling last night finding the basics, all intros etc. This has only been since adding the CinemaVision folder through file manager, although that may be a coincidence.

I've never produced a report before but I will give it a go in case it's useful to you.

Many thanks..... things are shaping up and going in the right direction. I actually really like the way you have structured this, once set-up it's really easy to change the order of items and add new items. A real step forward from CE, and I cant wait for a stable release :)

I just downloaded everything on 10/16/15. I have Kodi 15.1 plus the CinemaVision add-on and Launcher add-on, but I am also not seeing a CinemaVision option when playing a feature. I have my CV sequence setup and works fine when testing with the feature placeholder appearing, but when I launch a movie I have no CV option and it simply plays the feature. I'm running Win 7 64 bit with plenty of power.

Thoughts?

UPDATE: I'm not sure what I did but I fixed the problem. I believe I did not have the library items properly setup in Kodi.

If you downloaded it from this site today, you're running the latest version, 0.0.48. :) To get to the sequence editor, browse to your Program Add-ons, and just launch CinemaVision. I'd recommend setting up your configuration, or you'll be running in Demo Mode, which streams all of the content and doesn't create your local directories.
