MPAA Classic Ratings

These MPAA ratings videos mimic the style that has been used by the MPAA since the early 1980's, featuring a classic green background. The files marked with (3DSBS) are 3D Side-by-side versions of the rating cards, for your 3D movies.

The following ratings are included in this set:

  • G: All ages admitted.
  • PG: Parental guidance suggested. Some material may not be suitable for children.
  • PG-13: Parents strongly cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13.
  • R: Restricted. Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian.
  • NC-17: No one 17 and under admitted.
  • NR: This film has not yet been rated.

What's your language set to in Kodi? We're working on finishing up the way we want CinemaVision to handle ratings systems, so it's also likely your issue will be fixed in the next Beta release.

I noticed that for the Rating bumper we can select "Image" -- Where can they be downloaded?

Edit: I found some here. I downloaded them and can confirm that they are MPAA ratings. All are 1920x1080.

We actually use ratings while the add-on is in Demo Mode because images are exponentially smaller than movies, which make that download much faster. We recommend people use the ratings videos outside of Demo Mode.

Since I use action files to disable the refresh rate sync at the beginning of the sequence and then enable it just prior to the feature, using the ratings videos means that the refresh rate is turned on just before the ratings video is played, resulting in most of the ratings video being cut off as the projector syncs up to the refresh rate (I only see a portion of it as it begins to fade to black).
