Interesting. What are the specs for your Kodi device? What's your internet speed (upload and download)?

I'm with kodi 18 alpha 1 (compiled oct 10 2017) on a shield tv (v2 2017). Network is ethernet and my connection is pretty good, internet around 10mbs (optic fiber).

Well, it shouldnt be a buffering issue with that connection. The Shield is a solid platform. The only thing there that I can't guarantee will work is CinemaVision on Kodi 18. We don't start working out the bugs that come with new versions of Kodi until a beta is released. Alphas are too unstable and the code is always changing, so we don't put money and effort into new releases of Kodi until the alpha is over. I'd highly recommend switching to Kodi 17.4, since we can't guarantee everything works in Kodi 18.

Totally understand. I can live with that buffer / pause screen. Also, I'll stay with kodi 18 alpha (cinema extended script is not working anymore with last kodi 17 (. 4)).
I'll be updating kodi alphas from time to time and let u know if things changed with that buffer screen in cv.
Thanks

I appreciate that! It will help us get ahead of some bugs.

I have the same issue with Kodi 18 builds from Milhouse (LibreELEC on x86_64). But besides the issue described above, with the pause screen, I have some other issues. The sequence editor does not seem to work as expected. Two observations:

- The "demo mode" banner does not disappear, even though I have set a content-path and the content also actually works correctly.
- The menu to add a new item in the sequence between the existing items does not render, I am able to select and add new items but I have to do this "blind".

Trivia slides have some issues:

- Even the ones that are supposed to be 1080p are not fullscreen on my TV.
- The "pause" screen still shows (with the pause icon in the center of the screen, and a strange rectangle in the top-right corner).

Screenshots are attached.

Logging can be found on https://pastebin.com/P8mn1Q1m

I hope this is the correct thread for this kind of stuff. But if it's not please let me know. Also in case more information is needed.

From what I've read before, Kodi 18 is still in the alpha stages.  The CV development team won't look into supporting the new version until it's at least in beta due to the amount of changes likely to take place in the nightly builds.

Yeah, I read the same. But with Kodi 18 just around the corner I don’t think it’s a bad idea to start looking into these issues. I’ll see what I can do myself.

We're compiling a list of all of the reported bugs for Kodi 18 and adding them to our issues list for development. That thing grows nearly every day. If you do decide to fix some bugs yourself, feel free to post the fixes to our GitHub. :)
