tasker android support?

Question

since i have a multitude of home automation devices, all controlled by tasker for android, i was just wondering if there were possibilities for an cinemavision actionfile to trigger an event in tasker?

just wondering here.

The question really is can your  action files enter a http link?  There is a program "autoremote" i think its called that can send commands to tasker when certain http links are "entered", or called upon.

im not sure how to say in  a action file  "go to this page http://123123123123123123123123" ? how does such action file look? need help here :) ??

this would mean controlling following apps without problem

- tellstick

-hue

-tv

-stereo

- motorized bed

-motorized curtains

- and alot lot more things....

tasker can control most things. and if we can control tasker via http requests, almoast everything would be solved? :) Just need an example action file to see how it should be done.

Check out this post for information about the protocols CinemaVision action files can use. HTTP is one of them. When you call a URL alone, it is treated as a GET request, but it might work for what you're wanting to do. You can put as many actions as you want in one action file, just make sure they're separated by a blank line.

but is it just to put an url in a actionfile then thats it?

could you, or anyone make such a file?

:)

because autoremote just wants me to do a http request to a certain url. no codes (get put n so on) like in the hue files. just a simple ping to a certain url. just af if youd entered the website via a browser.

(in return ill do a detailed guide how to set it up via autoremote/ tasker) and post here :)

IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):)

Now, with autoremote, thanks to the action files you can tell "tasker" (on android) to do whatever you want.

Tasker has plugins for 90% of all home automation stuff so its pretty sweet.

explanation.

1. action file enters a url gotten from the app "autoremote"

2. When autoremote gets the url it sends a message to tasker (on phone, or your wallmounted tablet) a text message "a certain word"

3. Tasker state -> plugin autoremote -> "a certain word"

4. Tasker then  tells hue, or tellstick, or my AV reciever, tv, coffemachine, bedmotors. .... (enless possibilities). ON/OFF or DIMM

Really really reallly sweet.

Dont try to fix what aint broken <3

PS : My action file only contains the url

i now have alot of action files in a row. ive noticed that the enablehue addon and disablehue ambiliht action file dosn do the trick always. every 3rd time it seems to miss this.

is it to many commands at once? is this better in the newer version? more stable action files handeling? havnt dared upgrade to the newest version yet. still on 48.

ps could a "wait 2 seconds before continuing the sequence action be made"

You may be doing it faster than Kodi can process the command. Are you doing them in the same action? If so, that's not going to get you anywhere. :D You'll want to disable the add-on at the very beginning of your CinemaVision sequence, and enable it again at the very end of the sequence. The first and last modules in your sequence should both be Action modules in this case.

Well I'm late to the party!, To think I figured it out to but I had a really long weekend with the wife and kid for Halloween and a few other personal things going on :).  I didn't get a chance to jump in and say what I got.    Anyway awesome you got this done, I was looking into using tasker as well cause as you mentioned getting this to work tasker turns it into basically a translator.  Just like how I use OpenHAB.

I agree with Rag, the files may be triggering to fast for Kodi :)  Did you get it figured out?
