Call for Help! Do you use a projector?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! If you're using a projector in your home theater setup, we need your help. We know there are a few problems with refresh rate & aspect ratio switching, delays and the like. I won't bore you with the details of why this is happening, but I will tell you that we want to fix it. We've come up with some ideas that may help curb that behavior, but we need people who are willing to help us test them to work out the bugs and find the best possible solution so we can all enjoy CinemaVision without issues. Post here, if you're interested in being a guinea pig, and thanks for your help and support!

I've put up a new release that changes the dummy video files into images, to avoid the refresh rate switching issue. Please follow the instructions for backing up your existing CinemaVision data before making the change to the development version, so that you'll be able to restore to a steady state. Test it, and send us logs and descriptions of the behavior you're seeing so that we can get this fixed for projector users seeing issues. Thanks!

I have to say I haven't noticed the problems you have outlined on my setup, I'm using the latest stable version. I will however keep an eye out for anything amiss. If you want me to use the Alpha then I'm happy to and can feed back any issues i notice.

Ok, tested it. Kodi 15.2, win 10. Benq W1070 projector

Does not work in 2d or 3d.

In 2d I get the sequence working ok but when it is time for the feature to play I get 100p60 and black screen. I have to press stop in the remote to get back to kodi ui.

In 3d, if I start the sequence with skin integration I get the same behaviour as above with 2d. I have setup 2 video bumpers and then the feature. Between the 2 bumpers I get the refresh rate change so I get thrown back out of 3d mode

If I try to start the sequence from the sequence editor (without queing a movie) I just get the placeholder for the feature, the sequence does not play at all.

That Pastebin link says it's removed. Are we missing some characters in the ID?

I am experiencing similar issues, I have only tried my 2d sequence and whether i had the refresh rate switching on or not I would get black screen lockups at different stages.

When the refresh rate switching was on, it didn't seem to do anything, the projector was switching rates but I would either get the black screen lockup or I would miss some of the video.

My understanding is it is using blank black screen videos. Do they match the next video bumper or feature for refresh rate? Where are they coming from, and what is the length?

Ooops, never tried the pastebin to check if the link was ok. Seems I made an error while typing it from the kodi popup window. Next time I will check before posting.

Hi, using a JVC HD350 DILA projector. The standard addon makes the screen flash blue between segments, indicating a loss of signal. (This doesn't happen otherwise when using Kodi.)  The cinemavision sequence plays all the way through, with the blue screen being the only issue. I am using the action to stop the refresh rate switching which works.

When using the test addon it gets to the second segment, then just gives a blank screen. Pressing "Stop" brought it back to the menu. I noticed that the refresh rate changed despite the the action file.
