Show Short Films relevant to the Feature.

Recommended Posts

Something I've been dreaming of for years is a way to play a short film or cartoon before a movie that is relevant to the film being shown.  For example before watching Saving Private Ryan I'd like to see one of Disney's war cartoons.  Now I know this is exceedingly difficult to do however I think it could be accomplished with some sort of tagging where you then match up the Feature with the appropriate short/cartoon tags.

One hiccup in this approach is Kodi doesn't currently allow tv episode level tagging and I would wager most people store their cartoons as tv shows.

I think a feature like this could be expanded so that every video bumper could use it and then you can say have a special Disney Feature Intro every time you play a Disney Movie.

That's correct. One of the major overhauls will be XML driven metadata for slides and the like. We could probably adopt it to video bumpers as well.

That, too, is on the list! We'll need to figure out how to account for different holidays in different countries and for different religions, though. We haven't even begun to map that out yet.
