Cinema experience for tv shows

Question

With shows like game of thrones and the Night manager turning viewing in experiences in their own right I was wondering if it's possible to activate CV for tv shows, activation through the context menu would be good enough. Is there any way to accomplish this?

While television shows aren't currently supported, they are on our radar. The second round of development will include a pretty robust television addition including features like a new default Sequence for TV Shows, and a new Video Bumpers type: Commercials. We started to outline the features during our first round of development, and quickly realized that if we wanted it done right, we needed to focus on the TV functionality and give it the attention it deserved. The idea is, people tend to want to binge-watch shows, sometimes with intermissions. Those intermissions can be commercials (that you pick) or even trivia about the TV show you're watching. We'll need to build in the ability to automatically break every X episodes, or X minutes during an episode. That's just some of what we've got planned, and we're totally open to ideas. :D

That's great to hear. For right now I figured out that if I add one or several episodes to my queue and then start cv by selecting a movie (without enabling the hide queue interface from the cv settings) I can remove the movie from the queue interface and start the sequence for the episodes. But having a separate sequence would indeed be perfect. Keep up the good work.

I hadn't even thought about doing it that way. Hah! Well done! We've got some pretty big plans for the next major version, and even the 1.5 release. I'm not sure what's going in just yet, but I'll tell you that right now we have nearly 100 line items to try to squeeze in. Some of them are small tasks, and some of them are large additions, like TV functionality. :)
