Error message from cinemavision when launching a movie

Question

Hi there,

I have set a personal intro using cinema vision addon.

I did include a feature in it.

When I launch my personal sequence from the addon (to test it), it's working fine. But if I launch a movie using the cinema vision icon in the context menu, then I have a "cinemavision error"

I enclose the log for investigation.

Thanks in advance for your support

Regards

Guillaume

Hi,

I'm back with this issue, and since the last Libreelec update, no way to get addon working at all.

I tried to re do the steps you told me, but nothing appears to be able to make it work...

Here are my logs if you can find something, I'm your man.

A few ago before the update, I faced another wierd issue, is that whatever the movie I launched, cinemavision put into the queue only one movie, always the same, and not movie I selected.

I tried to remove the movie from the queue and select again another movie, but still always the same movie in the queue. I launch the cinema vision sequence and at the end, the feature played was the one in the queue so not the one I was wishing.

Do you know when the update will happen in order to solve this ?

Thanks

Guillaume

I just uploaded a development release that should fix the error you're seeing.

This issue seems to be resolved in 1.0.12.

Hey there! So in looking at the error, it's something we forgot to handle that will be fixed in 1.0.12. In the meantime, I think you can do this to fix it:

  1. Open the CinemaVision add-on settings.
  2. Select the Trailers menu.
  3. Select Clear trailers watched status.
  4. Select OK when prompted.
  5. Select the Advanced menu.
  6. Under Debugging, select Clear trailers broken status.
  7. Select OK when prompted.
  8. Select the Content menu.
  9. Select Update content.

That will reset all of the flags for iTunes trailers, which I think is what's causing the issue. It will also update your CinemaVision database with the latest offerings from iTunes. Let me know how that goes.

Hi there,

So by following your instructions, unfortunately, the exact same issue is still there.

If I launch a movie from my cinema vision context menu icon, I have an error message.

Here enclosed the log file.

I have difficulties to understand why when I launch my sequence from the addon (Execute/context menu/play), everything goes perfectly, including the trailers, everything.

Thanks in advance for your support

Found something that might be interesting :

I have the issue only on Libreelec distribution (Linux base, new distribution which is very similar to Openelec), which is what I used as an HTPC.

So, I tried with my others devices on windows and Android, I don't have this issue.

Hoping that it's helpfull.

Thanks

Guillaume

Sorry to get back to you again.

Here is another input.

I ran a bunch of testing and if I activate the queue, then I have this intermediary queue screen, when I see my movie, the sequence's name and so on.

With that it's working.

I check the others versions , it's working fine whether the queue intermediary screen is set up to show up or not.

So the issue only arises when the Queue Dialog is turned off in settings, and only when using the LibreELEC platform? I don't know much about LibreELEC. I recall you having issues with their platform specifically and saving Sequences. I forwarded your logs over to our developer yesterday, and he'll be fixing the handling over the next few days. The fix will be in the next release, 1.0.12. It's interesting that this appears to be platform specific, as we use standard calls to launch content in Kodi. We may need your help testing our fix to see if it's something that the LibreELEC team has to fix on their end. We've seen some developers in Germany who use Kodi preinstalled as a base that have fundamentally changed the player in some ways which will create issues unless the player is fixed.

Hi,

I implemented the update you mentionned, and something interesting happened.

After the update, I tried out of the box to run the 2D default sequence from a movie, worked perfectly

Then I set my content path in order to retrieve my sequence.

Launched my sequence from a movie : error message

Launched the 2D default sequence : black screen for almost two minutes, then only one trailer and audio bumper then the feature.

My kodi log are enclosed in case.

Any guess ?

Thanks

Guillaume

PS : As I have a projector, if I can get this to work, I should be able to help you with projector issues...

Hey there! From your log, it looks like you're still seeing the same iTunes network error. The log also says you're running 1.0.11, and not 1.0.12a1. Make sure you are installing from zip, and make sure you use the zip file on the website:

After you've updated the add-on, restart Kodi just to be sure it picks up the new version.

Hi,

I'm not sure to understand :

At first I tried to install from zip the file you provided me with, but nothing happened, and the version didn't change.

So, even if I was not very confident with that, I extracted the zip file, and replaced the script.cinemavision directory in the user data , addon data by the one I extracted.

Maybe Shall I remove the initial version  from the addon first before install from ZIP? I didn't think about doing that...

I'm confused, and don't know really how to proceed

Please guide me

Thanks in advance

Guillaume

You should be able to install the new version over the old version from that zip file and see the version change from 1.0.11 to 1.0.12a1. If you manually uninstall and reinstall from the zip file, it should work as well. Installing manually by copying it to the userdata directory will also work, but in that case you'll need to restart Kodi to accept that change. If the version does not change after installing the zip file, I'd recommend restarting Kodi.

This fixed my issue as well.  Since I only stream iTunes trailers, CV would just present a black screen and not play my Intro or audio bumpers.  The log mentioned a 404 error when attempting to stream.

File "C:\Users\XXXXXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\script.cinemavision\lib\cinemavision\scrapers\itunes\scraper.py", line 178, in __get_url
                                                raise NetworkError('HTTPError: %s' % error)
NetworkError: HTTPError: HTTP Error 404: Not Found

This patch seems to have fixed the issue.  Thanks!

Hi Ragnarok,

First, thanks for the assistance, always appreciated.

So I've retested accordingly today, and I'm glad to confirm Elfman's statement :

Every thing is now ticking like a clock, including the issue with the hidden queue.

So , well ... thanks

Have a nice week end

Happy to help! Let me know if you see any issues with it. If I don't start getting bug reports, we'll push 1.0.12 to the Kodi repository next week.
