No Cinema Vision Option

Question

Hi I have Kodi installed on a Android 4K Box and I have installed the Pulse Build, then I installed Cinema Vision, but when ever I select the context menu on a film there is no cinemavision option no matter which Movie I select or which ever plugin I select. I've installed the Context menu addon.

Everything is setup, and content path has updated, I can select files/video etc in the editor so I know that it sees the correct path.

Hey! The content you're trying to play... is it local or streaming? If it's streaming, is the content being scraped into your Kodi library? If the content isn't scraped into your Kodi library, CinemaVision won't work. We rely on data from that Kodi library to create the experience. We will be exploring streaming support in the next release, but for now it won't work with that content. If it is local content, post up a log for us to review so we can see what's going on.

Hi thanks for the reply, the content is being streamed via whatever plugin its using, it says Specto - Fork, I don't really know what this is, but as this is pre-built and everything works ok, I haven't messed too much with it.

Ah ok after looking what Specto is it's just another Plugin here's a link that describes what it is.

http://filmkodi.com/en/wtyczka-specto-fork-genesis/

I also stream from a server which has PLEX installed on it, but the option doesn't appear there, but by what you have said I assume that wouldn't work anyway.

Ok after trying another Plugin the Cinemavision appears in the content, so it must be something to do with the Specto Plugin...? Also doesn't show up with the Exodus Plugin

If I had to guess, the other add-on  that you mentioned where the CinemaVision option works is scraping its content into the Kodi library and effectively making Kodi think that it's local content. That's all that needs to happen to make CinemaVision work with a stream, but unfortunately a lot of those piracy add-ons that stream from unreliable sources don't follow development standards. Because of that, they break pretty consistently, and don't work the way that they should with pretty common legitimate add-ons that require library data like CinemaVision and TVTunes.

You can reach out to whoever develops those add-ons that don't work like Specto and Exodus, and try to get them to change their add-on so that the content is scraped into the local Kodi library, but I doubt they will make any effort to fix it. I would also advise against trying to get support for those add-ons on the Kodi forum because it will likely get you banned there. They're not too keen on those piracy add-ons and the image they've given Kodi, and are actively making an effort to distance themselves from those add-ons.
