Single content path for multiple Kodi clients?

Question

I finally managed to successfully get CinemaVision running 1.10.12a (thanks Ragnarok!)

I use two Kodi clients - one a QNAP 653A NAS (where the Emby server and media is also located), and another running on an Android machine in another room

Given how big some of the content files can be, would it be possible to just have one Content Path set (will point it to my NAS)? When I try this using the Android machine, the only options available are local

Any help appreciated!

Hey there! Glad you got it running. We have tons of folks who create a share (accessible by Kodi) on a NAS and then point CV there. In fact, we recommend doing it that way so that if you have multiple boxes they have one source for content. As long as you've put the Android device and the NAS on the same network, and added the share you create as a source in Kodi, you should be in good shape.

Thanks - let me try that

Where exactly in Kodi do you add the Cinemavision folder as a source though? Don't really want the Cinemavision files to be added to the library (and hence show up in the Videos or Pictures menu)

Hey there! Follow the guide below to learn how to add whatever drive (local or network) as a source in Kodi.

The files wont be added to your library. You don't need to scrape them in using the normal means, and don't need to define a media type. You just have to point CinemaVision to the directory you will be storing your content in.
