Here's a topic to suggest and discuss music played during the trivia portion of the CinemaVision or Cinema Experience addons. I'll start out with my favorite trivia music.

For classic movie music I like the 4 CD's called 'The Golden Age Of Hollywood' Vols. 1-4 by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

For more modern movie music (post 1970) I like the 3 CD set called 'Film Music Gala' (also released as 'Filmharmonic') by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, there's the CD called 'Hollywood Blockbusters' also by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra which complements the other set without any overlap.

The previous suggestions are all excellent re-recordings. If you want modern original recordings, the 4 Varese Sarabande Anniversary sets each have 4 CD's each. That's a lot of music and a lot of variety.

Looking forward to the discussion. Thanks to CinemaVision for the trivia slides and the new add-on.

In addition to the Cinema Experience addon, I use TVTunes. After it scrapes music for the movies I have in my library, I copy/paste the themes from the movie folders into the appropriate CE folder. It's a bit extra work, but it's nice to hear themes from MY movies.

I prefer to use songs from soundtracks (not the score, the actual songs)... for example "Power of Love" from Back to the Future, "Danger Zone" from Top Gun, "Old Time Rock n Roll" from Risky Business, etc. Also popular songs that when you hear them, call to mind a specific movie... or in some cases movies... that the song was featured in.

I'm with you Jeff, the most identifiable song for the particular sides I'm showing. I usually create mp4 movies with the slides and music merged together so they are perfectly sync'd. For Goldeney it's gotta be Tina Turner. Before I got techie enough to mix my own slide videos I used Pandora's film channel that worked pretty good as well.
