Conflict With AmbiBox?

Question

So I spent the last couple of days setting up an Ambilight display on my TV, this turned out to be a bigger project than I had anticipated, but that's not relevant to this post.

After trying a variety of methods to control my lights I finally settled on using AmbiBox and the AmbiBox plug in for Kodi because I was unable to get Processing to work correctly, and it didn't effect video playback the way that the other options did. I got it all tested out and running smoothly, and figured I'd see if it would use the trivia slides in CV as a source or if it would wait till the movie started to kick in... to my surprise I received an error popup that said CV failed to initialize.

I'm just curious if anybody else has run into this issue, and could point me to some quick fixes or things to look at. I'm at work right now so I can't upload a log or anything at the moment, but I had a bit of free time and figured I'd try a bit of crowd sourcing. I'll upload a log file when I get some time, but with the holiday it might be a while, and this gonna eat at me till I get it figured out.

Thanks in advance for any input. :)

True story, you're the first person to try this. :) I'm not sure what would have caused CinemaVision to abort with an error. Does the Sequence still play if you disable the AmbiBox add-on? If you would, post a debug log that shows the failure so we can make sure it's not something we need to fix. If it's something that needs to be fixed in AmbiBox, we might be able to tell that too, and point the author of that add-on in the right direction. That's how we were able to get DSPlayer support for CinemaVision working.

I kind of figured, I couldn't find much on a Google search either.

I'll post a log when I get some time to do some trouble shooting, and I'm going to keep tinkering with it too. I had to do quite a bit of tinkering to get the ambilight display working in the first place, so it's possible I may have inadvertently broken something when I was trying to get things working too. I'll keep this thread updated as I go along, just so it's here for anyone else who may run into this issue in the future.

EDIT: I hadn't tried turning off AmbiBox yet, I haven't had the time yet to do any trouble shooting... probably be a good place to start lol. I'll let you know. :)

Yeah... so I feel like a doof.

After letting this eat at me for a couple of days, I finally had some time to sit down and do some trouble shooting. Looks like when I hooked up the Arduino to control the lights, the drive that I have my slides (and stuff) stored on got reassigned a new drive letter, which broke the content path for CV. I corrected the path and all is working flawlessly.

...If this thread were to disappear from existence, my ego would be eternally greatfull. if not, let this serve as a lesson for everyone else; ALWAYS check the simple stuff FIRST. LOL
