James Bond Collection (Fusion Version) in production

Recommended Posts

Hey guys just figured I'd chime in and let everyone know what I'm currently working on...

As mentioned in the news article in July we’ve been working hard to fix and update many of our slide packs. Since then I've been working hard on getting the LeitMotif packs polished up. First to be released is the James Bond Collection, covering all 24 films. We will be releasing these in order starting with Dr. No. Every week we will be releasing the proceeding film’s slides all the way up to the much anticipated release of the film SPECTRE.

We hope to have Dr. No available for download within the next couple weeks.

I've incorporated a ton of techniques I was unaware of when I first created the collection under the SlideVision/LeitMotif brand. I will try and composite some old vs new samples as the decks are released. And with that here is Dr. No...

New slides look great gamephoenix. Love the gun font for the numbers.

My only question is would it make any sense to lower the question positioning?  I'm not sure if there are other slides that limit the spacing but it seems a little odd to have it at the same vertical location as the film title.

Thanks for updating the slides.

Yeah I agree the shorter questions look a bit odd up so high. I may go back and change that in the future. Some of the longer questions I think would look cramped that low. Here is an example of one of the long winded ones....

First off I want to thank you for doing these and listening to the suggestions of someone you don't know.  I really appreciate your effort.

I figured that there would be longer questions that would eat up a lot of space.  If the 4 line example above is the longest I would suggest centering all the questions vertically in that space so that a 2 line question would fill the middle 2 lines and a 3 line would basically fill the spaces between the 4 lines.

My one other suggestion would be to make sure that there is some space between the answers and the artwork.  Moon is really close there.

I know that I'm nitpicking small details in your designs here.  They do look really good overall.

Oh no, some are so long the font has to be slightly reduced in order to fit. The only option would be to raise and lower the question font from slide to slide. Depending upon the transition being used you can get what I call the brow effect where the question jumps up and down. In LeitMotif I put the Title above the question which elevates a bit of this problem making it a bit more balanced. I may have to reevaluate that practice in the next set I make.

As far as the font and image colliding I try to avoid it. In the slide above the solution would be to swap answers 2 & 4. If the answer's to long I usually paraphrase and if necessary I reduce the font size. In a couple instances I even had to move the answers to the left as well as reduce font size. But sometimes it's simply unavoidable even with paraphrasing, font reduction and moving the answers. In that case I have to weigh weather the question is worthy of the eye offense.

Just an FYI the 1st set, Dr. No has been released in the Fusion Downloads for subscribers. Anyone who notices any errors let me know and I'll correct them ASAP.

Also a sample pack of the Golden Era (Sean Connery films) has been released for everyone.

I originally posted these under FanArt. then oops I noticed that was under Cinemagraphs so I guess I'll park these here...

While were waiting for the Release of From Russia with Love, these are the concepts that were ultimately not selected to be used in the set. Feel free to use them with your own projects and if you want the templates give me a shout.

I love the feel of the old movie illustrations before almost everything became floating heads.  Some of them may be a little cheesy but they do a great job of giving you a feel for the film.

Thanks for sharing the bits from the cutting room floor.

Absolutely, so many templates just didn't make the cut. Hopefully someone can find so use for them. I really hated not putting some of them in. Hopefully someone can make some use of them.

BTW Chosen, were all waiting for you to show us up again by making another great quote skin for Thunderball this week. :)

Just releaased the Thundrball Trivia collection. Thanks to Ploargeek and Chosen from participating in the Quote skin competition. Looks like everyone was a winner again. Polargeeks and my design were integrated for the fact slide and Chosen's design was used for Quotes. Great job everyone.

Currently we are reworking the Quote skin for You Only Live Twice. Come to the forum page, download the Photoshop template and show off your mad skillz. Maybe we will feature your design in the deck.

While were waiting for You only Live Twice to be released next week here are the templates that did not make it to the final deck...

Loving them, thanks for the continued hard work, Keep it up :) A**** They look great !

Thanks WARDL895!

A couple updates I probably should have updated a while ago.

Were doing a community competition using Photoshop to put a unique spin on each film's Quote and Fact templates. If you have any Photoshop experience visit the thread below, download the template file and show us what you can do. Currently were doing a rework of the templates for You only Live Twice. Winners design will be featured in the decks release free to the entire community.

Also I'm currently trying to figure out which templates to use for the Casino Royale deck. There are around 70 templates to choose from. Stop by the thread and cast your votes for your favorites you'd like to see make an appearance in the deck...

Well I'm kinda sad, but the James Bond production has come to an end. All 24 movies have been made into Trivia decks now. The entire collection includes a whopping 1,853 slides. Because of the sheer size of the collection we have uploaded them all as individual decks. You'll notice I stopped posting the concepts after For your eyes only, if anyone would like to see the unused templates for the remaining decks, send me a message and I'll throw them up here. Enjoy the collection and as we all know eventually JAMES BOND WILL RETURN...
