Sorry if this has been asked, is there anyway to run CV on the default kodi 'play' command without having to open dialog box, select CV, then select play.

Not yet, but that's something we will be adding in this round of development. For now, you have two choices to launch movies with CinemaVision. It can be done using the CinemaVision or Cinema Mode button in the Movie Information screen, and it can be done using the CinemaVision Launcher context menu add-on.
