The Big Picture
At the end of this guide, you will have integrated VoxCommando and your Kodi HTPC with CinemaVision. You will be able to control Kodi, and run your CinemaVision Sequence using voice commands, giving you more freedom over how you start your movie theater experience.
What you won't need:
-
To be a programmer, or have working knowledge of any programming language.
What you will need:
-
Kodi installed and configured on an HTPC, with content scraped into the local Kodi database (not streaming).
-
The Kodi CinemaVision Add-on installed, with a working Sequence (a working knowledge of setting up CinemaVision).
-
VoxCommando installed and configured on the same HTPC on which Kodi is installed, and some knowledge of the VoxCommando interface.
-
Notepad++ installed, or a similar plain text editor other than Notepad.
-
Sample VoxCommando Commands for CinemaVision.
-
The patience to do some work to get the solution up and running. It's not hard, but it's not plug-and-play either.
Import the XML Files
We've built some XML files for use with VoxCommando, and you should have downloaded them using the link above. If not, download those files and take note of where you've saved them. Once you have the files, do the following:
-
Open VoxCommando.
-
Click the Edit menu.

-
Drag and drop the XML files we downloaded earlier in this guide onto your Command Tree.

-
Click the Save button at the top of the VoxCommando window.
That's it! We're all done. You're ready to start CinemaVision. If you didn't modify the phrase, here's what to say to VoxCommando:
